Australia’s Green Cauldron $385pp
Step aboard your Helicopter, to fly high above and learn about “Australia’s Green Cauldron”. Find yourself immersed in this landscape, which is a mysterious melting pot of rich volcanic earth, deep green rainforest, breathtaking scenery, shining blue waters, diverse and “culturally rich” communities, and rare Gondwanan (prehistoric wildlife).
As we leave the blue of the ocean, be sure to look left where you will see a series of breathtaking escarpments, mountains and valleys fanning out from the Southern Gold Coast.
At the heart of this landscape lies the majestic Wollumbin Mt Warning, the first point on the Australian continent to be lit up by the rays of the morning sun. For the Bundjalong Nation and other Aboriginal tribes, the name Wollumbin has several meanings, including “Cloud Catcher”. As we climb to 4000feet, you will fly so close to the top of this “cloud catcher” you will feel like you can touch it. This magnificent landscape was created from an ancient caldera – the eroded remains of an extinct shield volcano. There is no other way that you can experience this view, but from a helicopter.
On heading East, mountain rainforests give way to a spectacular marine environment, we will descend to 500feet to follow the meandering Tweed River back to Point Danger, with views to Cook Island, which is home to loggerhead turtles, bottle-nosed dolphins and the endangered grey nurse shark.
From here, we will follow the Coast North along the famous surfing breaks of “Snapper Rocks” and “Kirra Point” and get a bird’s eye view of the action, before landing back at Coolangatta.
This is truly our premium flight that captures everything that this region can showcase, one that really should be experienced.
